For this STEAM activity, my peers and I completed a character project. Through this activity, we were able to analyze and discuss the significance of our character as well as the influence that media has on society. We did this through considering the following questions:
1. Who created this message?
2. What creative techniques are used to attract my attention?
3. How might different people understand this message differently than me?
4. What values, lifestyles, and points of view are represented in, or omitted from, this message?
5. Why is this message being sent?

For this interactive storytelling poster and circuit, I decided to incorporate the short story, "Lamb to the Slaughter", by Roald Dahl through my creation of a flashlight and magnifying glass poster. With this poster, students are able to scan the QR codes to help them facilitate their completion of their "detective's report".
During this project, my colleague and I created a green screen video in which we provide a "Survival Guide" for middle school students. In this video we offer advice for students and do so amidst the chaos of a "middle school hallway". Upon recording our video, we used Camtasia studios to make the necessary edits needed for the successful completion of this video.
I had the opportunity to work with a light board and plan to integrate this within my classroom. Once I was finished writing, I was able to flip the video around so that the writing is faces the audience. This is something that I plan to model for and have my students use as they embark upon their PBL journey with me.
"Lamb to the Slaughter" Activity and Choice Board
For this project, I created an activity that corresponds with the Roald Dahl short story, "Lamb to the Slaughter". For the activity that I created, students will use the QR codes (pictured below) to access the documents and Voki characters provided. These resources will give students the evidence they need to fill out their detective report given to them prior to the activity. I have also included a choice board that responds to this short story. For the choice board, students will use the "Lamb to the Slaughter" menu to choose activities and become nourished from this delectable story!
